August 1, Time to Buy your Maryland or Other State Hunting License

Today is August 1, that means you can officially buy your 2012 - 2013 hunting license today.    I always buy my license the first week of August so I do not forget, plus it gives me time to look over the new rules and regulations for the upcoming season.

I wanted to provide you with the link to buy your Maryland 2012 - 2013 Hunting license (below).  Of course you can always visit your local pro shop as well.

Here is the Link to purchase your  Maryland hunting license online.  Remember Maryland switched over to something called compass licensing service, this is to better serve those who buy hunting and fishing licenses in the state of the Maryland and once you buy your first one and provide all the info, it is so much easier than the old system!

Here are a few other reminders as we get close to the season...

Hunter Safety classes are taking place and many places are offering their courses now through mid September, so if you or someone you know needs to take the hunter safety course before you can purchase a license and go hunting this year, you need to sign up ASAP as many of these classes  fill up this time of year so please do not wait.. For more information Click Here: Maryland Hunter Education

If you hunt one of the 3 Central Maryland reservoirs (Loch Raven, Prettyboy, or Liberty they made it into one Permit for all three now.  So you can fill out one paper rather than needing two as in previous years.  Here is the link to that permit as well as the maps for those areas.  Maryland Reservoirs

I also wanted to provide you with links to the other Mid- Atlantic states online licensing services

Pennsylvania -  Online Licenses

Virginia -  Online Licenses

West Virginia - Online Licenses

Delaware - Online Licenses
Hope this helps you get your licenses whether you live in the Mid-Atlantic or you just plan to hunt here, either way the season is coming quickly and it's time to get all your ducks in row!  Remember fellow bow hunters, practice makes perfect!

Gino, Compass is a nice new system that will allow us to not have to do as much work in the future to purchase our licenses as well as make it easier to replace them should we loose them or they get wet etc. Hunting season is only 5 weeks away from today!
